Encouraging Winter Reading

Elyria Public Library System has a program going on where you can win prizes for reading to your children birth through 18.

Temperatures may be dropping but the competition is heating up at the Elyria Public Library System! Join us February 1st through March 31st for our Buckeye Books Reading Challenge!  Read 5 books by Ohio authors for a chance to win an autographed book by an Ohio author and get invited to pizza party!  Log the books online through Beanstack or in person at any of our branches.

Then help us celebrate National Library Week (April 7th-13th) with our Buckey Book Pizza Party on Tuesday April 9th at 4:45 p.m. at the Keystone-LaGrange Branch or EPLS or on Wednesday, April 10th at 5:00 p.m. at our Central Branch.


Log your reading online with the Elyria Public Library System and Beanstack!

v Use your computer, smartphone, or tablet to log reading and activities for all ages then you’ll stop in the library to pick up any prizes earned.

v Receive weekly book recommendations tailored to you or your child.

v Learn about library programs matched to you or your child’s age.

Follow these steps to register!

1)    Go to and select your age group.  You will be asked if you want to register yourself or your child for some of the groups, register yourself first and then any children.

2)    Fill out the simple form about you and/or your children including a username, email, and password.  The username and password will allow you to log in to the site in the future.
