Are you struggling to meet the staff education requirements for Step Up To Quality? Then you need to check out the new School-Age Endorsement being offered by OCCRRA.

Who is Eligible?

  • Family child care owners, or employees, with an ODFS license.
  • Teachers working with school-age children in a licensed child care facility
  • Administrators of stand-alone school-age programs. (No other age group served)
What is required to receive the endorsement?
  • Assistant Teacher Endorsement requires 10 hours of specific school-age training and a minimum of 200 hours working with children.
  • Lead Teacher Endorsement requires 15 hours or specific school-age training, an additional 5 hours of Ohio approved training and a minimum of 600 hours working with children.
  • Administrator Endorsement requires 20 hours of specific school-age training, 10 hours of Ohio approved training and a minimum of 1400 hours working with children-800 of which must be in a program serving school-age children.
3 easy steps to endorsement:
  • Complete required training for the endorsement being sought.
  • Apply for the endorsement in the Ohio Professional Registry.
  • Upload a letter from your employer verifying your professional experience.
What are the benefits of the School-Age Endorsement?
  • All required training hours are Ohio approved and count towards professional development requirements for STUQ.
