Ready Set Go to Kindergarten

Imagination Library

Nicolle Bellmore Pierse - Tuesday, March 17, 2020
Here is another great resource that can be a big help during these school closures!

Lorain County Imagination Library was established in 2016 by a caring group of individuals representing all facets of the early childhood and public education sectors.  Initially, The United Way of Greater Lorain County's Ready Set Kindergarten implemented Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Elyria in 2015.  The response in the community was immediate and positive with registrations outpacing national predictions.  Based on that early success in Elyria, members of the Lorain County Literacy Collaborative championed the expansion of the program into every community in Lorain County.  Not long after, LCIL formed under the auspices of The Stocker Foundation.  Currently, LCIL is comprised of 43 individuals representing 19 nonprofit and governmental agencies striving to promote literacy and a love of reading by providing books to children (birth to age 5) throughout Lorain County.
