Ready Set Go to Kindergarten

Exploring STEM Through Play

Nicolle Bellmore Pierse - Tuesday, July 09, 2019

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.) learning opportunities surround us in the summer as we spend more time outdoors exploring nature.

Below is a link to the website with a wonderful video displaying early education providers exploring STEM through play:

The ideas to incorporate more STEM activities this summer are bountiful. You can build ramps for cars, forts for reading and water or bubble sensory bins that include ice. You can go on a nature scavenger hunt and bring back items to sort and classify. Gather all of the empty containers in your center and bring them outside so the students can stack them up to see how tall the structure can rise. Bring some marbles out to test the pavement to see which direction the marbles roll. What else can you come up with? Share your ideas or pictures of summer STEM activities @RSGtoday on our Facebook page.
