Have a Heart...14 Books to Help Develop Social Emotional Skills in Preschoolers

Nicolle Bellmore Pierse - Thursday, February 14, 2013

Sometimes we get so busy teaching academic content that we forget how important social and emotional development is for preschoolers.  In fact, it is so important that the Ohio Department of Education recently adopted revised Early Learning Content Standards that include social and emotional development as a key component.  But you certainly don't have to choose between academics and emotions--integration is key!  The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning is a great resource for this.  In the spirit of Valentine's Day here are links to 14 of their lesson plans for integrating social emotional development into your preschoolers' day.  After all, it's not just on Valentine's Day that we want our kids to have a heart!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi there! Quick question that's totally off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My web site looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I'm trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to fix
this issue. If you have any recommendations,
please share. Many thanks!
