8 Fall Family Activities

Fall is finally here! Take the time to do some of these activities with your family this season, and create memories that will last a lifetime!

1. Go for a hike in the Metro Parks! The Metro Parks are a great place to get some fall family fun! Encourage your preschooler to identify the colors in the trees, or wildlife you may encounter (deer, bird, squirrel, etc.). The Lorain County Metro Parks also hosts several fall events that are usually free for the entire family!

2. Visit a Pumpkin Patch! While looking for that perfect pumpkin to take home, ask your preschooler questions like "What color are the pumpkins? What shape are they? How much do you think this pumpkin weighs?"

3. Go Apple Picking! Your family can have tons of fun visiting an apple orchard and tasting some delicious warm apple cider! During the outing, you can develop your preschoolers counting and number recognition by counting the apples as you pick them!

4. Have a craft night! Do an easy fall craft with your family like this one!

5. Silly Spooky Stories & S'Mores! As the weather gets chillier, get the family together and have a bonfire in the backyard and exchange silly or spooky stories while enjoying some delicious s'mores! Encourage your preschooler to make up their own silly or spooky story!

6. Get lost in a corn maze! Corn mazes can be great fun for the whole family...as long as you can find your way out! Try visiting this local corn maze!

7. Visit a Sunflower Field! The Prayers for Maria Sunflower Field is in FULL BLOOM! Be sure to go and visit this beauty sometime soon!

8. Rake Up Those Leaves! Most of us remember jumping in a pile of leaves as children. Re-create this memory for your preschooler! Ask them how the leaves feel as they jump into them, and what colors or bugs they see!
